By cheque or bank transfer
IMPORTANT. If you donate directly to CPRE Devon for us, using a cheque or bank transfer, please do the following. To ensure your gift is held as a Restricted Fund for the Devon Data Centre and BESS Action Group, rather than CPRE Devon's general funds, please clearly state this at the point of giving, as set out below.
Donate by cheque: made payable to “CPRE Devon”, sent to the Treasurer, CPRE Devon, PO Box 26,
Beaworthy, EX21 5XN, with “Devon Data Centre and BESS Action Group” written clearly on the cheque or an accompanying note.
Donate by bank transfer or discuss a larger gift: contact CPRE Devon directly at info@cpredevon.org.uk or
01392 966737, and state that the gift is for the Devon Data Centre and BESS Action Group campaign.
Unless a donation is clearly marked or notified as being for this campaign, CPRE Devon cannot guarantee it will be allocated to this Restricted Fund. Donors are strongly encouraged to state this clearly when giving.
Our Pledge System
We have a 'Pledge Fund' option for when we need large sums of finance for the likes of seeking a Judicial Review. You can contact us and we can discuss this in more detail. No funds are required at the moment but when we do it will be good to know we have your support.
Gift Aid information
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourself through Gift Aid. For every £1 you give, CPRE Devon can claim an extra 25p from HMRC, provided you have paid enough UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in that tax year to cover the amount reclaimed. Gift Aid will be added to the Restricted Funds after it has been received by CPRE Devon from HMRC.
To claim Gift Aid, tick the Gift Aid option when donating via Crowdfund simply complete the section, or if donating via cheque or bank transfer download and return a Gift Aid declaration form: Gift Aid Form

How Funds Are Spent
Funds are only released from the Restricted Fund in accordance with the group's agreed governance process. In particular:
• Any proposal to spend campaign funds on external expertise must be submitted using the Request to Engage External Expertise template.
• Every request must be supported by a written quotation and a clearly defined scope of work before it is considered.
• Every request must be signed off by the Treasurer and at least one of the Chair or Vice Chair before any quotation is accepted or work is instructed.
• Once signed off, subject to confirmation by CPRE Devon that the request is consistent with its constitution and the Charity Commission regulations, payment is made directly by CPRE Devon to the individual or organisation providing the expertise.
Sub-committees and individual members do not make or receive payments on the campaign's behalf.
• Where an individual has made a payment personally in an exceptional case agreed in advance with the Treasurer, subject to confirmation by CPRE Devon that the expenditure is consistent with its constitution and the Charity Commission regulations, reimbursement is made directly by CPRE Devon on production of a valid receipt or invoice together with a note signed by the Treasurer confirming approval.
Transparency and Accountability
• A record of all funds received and all payments made from the Restricted Fund is maintained by CPRE Devon and reported to the Treasurer and Steering Group on a regular basis.
• The Steering Group may request a summary statement of the Restricted Fund at any time.
• This arrangement is intended to ensure that all funds raised by residents and supporters are used solely for the purposes of the campaign, and that spending is subject to proper written scrutiny and sign-off before it is committed
